Three more confirmed for pre-season

Cefn Druids

Leigh Genesis' pre-season calendar is beginning to fill up as the club confirms three more friendlies following an incredible response from the non-league community when requesting any opponents for pre-season games.

Genesis have been inundated with numerous requests to host the Leythers in a pre-season game, and three more dates have been added to the pre-season diary.

Leigh's pre-season campaign will begin on Tuesday 13th July with a trip to face Chadderton, who finished fourth in the Vodkat North West Counties League Division One last season, in a 7.45pm kick off.

The following Saturday sees Genesis travel to Ellesmere Port to take on Grove Sports (formerly known as Castrol FC) who finished in tenth position in the West Cheshire League, four places behind Newton FC, who are another of Leigh's pre-season opponents.

With the new Evo-Stik League Division One North season starting on Saturday 21st August, Leigh have an international fixture on Saturday 7th August when they travel over the border to North Wales to face Wrexham-based Cefn Druids, who were relegated from the Welsh Premier League at the end of last season.

Leigh Genesis' current pre-season programme is as stands;
Tuesday 13th July; Chadderton vs. Leigh Genesis (7.45pm)
Saturday 17th July; Grove Sports vs. Leigh Genesis (3.00pm)
Saturday 24th July; Silsden vs. Leigh Genesis (3.00pm)
Tuesday 27th July; Newton vs. Leigh Genesis (7.45pm)
Saturday 31st July; Rossendale United vs. Leigh Genesis (3.00pm)
Saturday 7th August; Cefn Druids vs. Leigh Genesis (3.00pm)

FC are in N Wales that day as well, played Bala. If there are any cricket fans around, a heads up that Lancs are away at Colwyn Bay on the Sunday. We are staying over and doing both.

Not a bad idea, though I'd no idea they hosted any cricket in Colwyn Bay!

We're giving up on the UniBond and just playing in a six-a-side comp next year, did I not mention it?

Would love to claim the credit for this one Dicko but I believe Maddo had it already lined up.

Mind you, I'm now having second thoughts as we haven't got a goalkeeper so might be best joining a five a side instead so that we can have a sub.

We are at Mossley that day. 21st and 31st July are the only free dates at the moment.

Now that could work, especially as you boys have experience in cleaning places up now.
Though not sure how many needles were on Crilly

No needless, but a couple of table lamps, phone chargers and various other amounts of debris buried at one end!
