This Thursday evening (31st July) sees Steve Bleasdale's Leigh Genesis side continue their pre-season preparations with the almost-annual trip to the county town and the Giant Axe to face UniBond League Division One North side Lancaster City (7:30pm).
After winning their first four friendlies in resounding fashion, Leigh Genesis lost their 100% record with a 1-0 home defeat to UniBond Division One side Woodley Sports on Saturday, with ex-Leigh RMI striker Gavin Salmon scoring the winning goal.
Lancaster City have had a mixed pre-season so far, losing at home to a Blackburn Rovers XI before a 4-3 defeat to Peel AFC of the Isle of Man; the Dolly Blues losing 3-1 at home to League Two neighbours Morecambe, just two days prior to Leigh's visit, after previously claiming an impressive 1-1 draw at home to Blue Square Premier newcomers Barrow.
Last summer saw Leigh RMI begin their pre-season campaign at the Giant Axe, Kevin Rapley giving the visitors the lead within three minutes, only for Leigh to eventually lose 3-1.
The last league visit to Lancaster came in April 2007 when the two sides drew 0-0 in a Conference North encounter.
Admission will cost £5 for adults, £3 for concessions, with the Giant Axe situated close to the city centre, just 100 yards from Lancaster railway station.
Kick off is at 7:30pm - get yourself to Lancaster and get behind the Leythers!

i hope your right, get back to winning ways
Quote:I'm prepared to excuse Saturday's lethargy because of the hectic week that preceeded it and obviously the hot weather, but I think we need a convincing victory on Thursday to really boost our confidence again.Nick_Astra_Army
