  Newcastle United go to Carrow Road for tomorrow’s game against Norwich City. They travel on the back of two wins and four defeats from their last six games, whilst Norwich host on the back of one win, three defeats and two draws from their last six. Both sides won their last Premier League game before the FA Cup weekend.

Newcastle should be fresh from a training trip to Dubai, but speculation about the future of midfielder Yohan Cabaye could throw a spanner in the works, especially if he doesn’t play due to his head not being in the right place as happened last time a bid for him was rejected.

Jonas Gutierrez, on loan at Norwich from Newcastle is not eligible to play and Michael Turner (hamstring) and Jonny Howson (back) are both unavailable for Norwich. Ricky van Wolfswinkel (toe) could be fit, as are Anthony Pilkington (hamstring) and Alex Tettey (ankle).

Newcastle welcome back Mathieu Debuchy who will resume his place in the first eleven after serving a three match suspension, but Fabricio Coloccini (knee) is still unfit as is Papiss Cisse (back) who won’t start. Gael Bigirimana may not have had too much to do with the first team lately but he too is unavailable for selection due to a foot injury.

On paper this is a game that Alan Pardew’s side should win, however Newcastle have proven time and time again that they are unpredictable and often make hard work of a game for themselves. This time a win could see them overtake Manchester United depending on their result against Cardiff City.

Former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton will also be desperate to win, with many questioning just how many games he has left in charge of the Canaries. Fans showed their dissatisfaction in the game against Fulham with a “Hughton out” banner and Captain Russell Martin said at the time;

“We turned up at Fulham the other week and there was a (“Hughton Out”) banner as we were getting off the coach. There’s no need for that.

It’s always going to be like that with the criticism. We’ve gone 12th in the table and there are a lot of teams below us in the same situation with a lot of managers under pressure, and a few have already gone this year.”

Fact: Norwich haven’t won back-to-back Premier League games since the last two games of the 2012/13 season.

Fact: Newcastle’s Loic Remy (11) and Yohan Cabaye (7) have scored as many goals between them as the entire Norwich City first team so far this season.

Bloody remy out for the derby, @#$%&.

HBA given man of the match, and yes, maybe if the game was only played in the middle of the park, but his finishing and decision making in and around the box was bloody awful.
I just hope this was the game he needed to get back to sharpness, we need him at his best on Saturday.

All I ask of this team for the rest of the season is that they win on Saturday, but do you think they will fkn do it??

HBA his usual self skipping and dancing around the opposition but again no end product.

You are right Piston his decision making was awful but that's also usual for HBA.

If we have to rely on him against Sunderland I feel my hopes are dashed already.

I'd rather rely on Cisse who surely must get a chance against Sunderland.
