Newcastle travel to the Liberty Stadium tomorrow evening on the back of four consecutive wins in the Premier League. Alan Pardew’s side have won four and lost two of their last six games in all competitions. Swansea City host on the back of two consecutive defeats but three defeats, one win and two draws from their last six in all competitions. 

Newcastle have no injury concerns and Pardew is expected to field an unchanged side to that which won against West Brom at the weekend at St James’ Park. That means Loic Remy will partner Shola Ameobi upfront with support from Gouffran whilst Papiss Cisse and Hatem Ben Arfa both start on the bench.

Pardew has made it clear this week that he has no intention of changing a winning side and so unless players fail to perform both Cisse and more specifically Ben Arfa will continue to warm the bench.

Michael Laudrup is without Wilfried Bony (hamstring), Michu (ankle) and Angel Rangel (calf) whilst Britton (ankle) will face a late fitness test. Laudrup will also assess whether or not goalkeeper Michel Vorm is fit.

Whilst Swansea are without both goal-scorers Bony and Michu, Newcastle’s Loic Remy is very much on form having scored 8 goals in 9 games so far. Support from Gouffran has seen Newcastle score seven goals in their last four games.

Fact: Newcastle have taken the lead in 9 of their 13 PL games this season, winning 7 of them.

However;

Fact: Swansea have not lost this season when scoring first - picking up 4 wins and a draw. They have failed to win any of the seven matches in which they conceded the opening goal.

i feel a bit sorry for Gouffran at the minute, everyone is praising Remy's scoring record but Gouff's is pretty impressive at the minute from midfield

We got this, Swansea have decent starting xI but after that realistically they have a weaker squad than us, Bony and MIchu missing will give is a much easier time.

they like to keep posession but aren't doing much with it this season, we should just let them keep the ball in their half and then hit them on the break

Oh look they're passing the ball about, never mind lets just watch them do just that and not even bother to put a tackle in.


Lackluster, no sense of urgency and over all very poor performance. We just didn't look like we wanted to be there.
On another note I knew we would lose this game as it is the typical game we lose.

And pardew,what was those substitutes about? I hope you weren't saving players for the united game because we wont get a result there. Is that why we weren't chasing the game tonight? saving ourselves for united?
Crazy.
We should have gone for it tonight instead of sitting back and watching the day go by like idiots.

We will need all the help we can get Saturday if we play like that.

Thankfully Wayne Rooney is suspended so that's one less threat.

Also Who the Fck passes to Obertan when they have a choice between him and Remy

Im not going to worry too much as the run had to come to the end.

They always have loads of possession but dont always do anything with it, like two years ago.

Really disappointed with Sissoko. He has been really poor this season whether or not he scored that screamer last week. I know he gives us a bit drive from the midfield but his vision is pretty wa.nk. Twice last night he could have played Remy in, the first one he had so much space it was unreal. The second, why would you pass to Obertan. Saying that, why would you bring him on in the first place.

If Anita was taller he would play more. I think thats sh17 as last nights game was crying out for someone extra in the middle. With Goufran and Remy's running, anita can unlock a defence. Especially with Cabaye playing a deeper role.
