Andy Carroll can focus solely on his football this afternoon after it was confirmed that Assault charges against the England International have been dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service, whose spokesperson said "We have decided that there is no longer a realistic prospect of conviction".
The 21 year old was held in cells overnight after being arrested by police for allegedly grabbing his ex girlfriend Laurie Henderson by her hair and banging her head on the bathroom floor, in October of this year after she caught him with another girl.
As a result Carroll, who was already on bail at the time for another unrelated offence, was bailed to skipper, Kevin Nolan's house where his car was torched within days of his hearing in the Magistrates Court.
