Newcastle Sign Chelsea Youngster

Newcastle United have signed Chelsea youngster Patrick Van Aanholt in a one month loan deal, after several players recently picked up injuries. The 19 year old Dutch defender has joined Newcastle to replace Jose Enrique after he was substituted in midweek with a hamstring injury.

Manager Chris Hughton has also indicated that he would potentially consider a permanent deal for the Under 21 Holland International.

He told Sky Sports;

"I certainly liked what I saw that night, I've also heard a lot of good things about him and he is a player who is very highly thought of at Chelsea.

The move was, of course, a reaction to Jose Enrique's injury but we're very excited about having Patrick with us.

He will give us energy and it's a good chance to have a look at him over the next month."

Aanholt will be available for selection tomorrow.
