Tomorrow lunchtime the BBC will screen the first Tyne-Tees derby of the Championship season and their first meeting outside of the top flight for 18 years, for a 1pm Kick Off. Newcastle United host Middlesbrough at St James' Park on the back of 5 wins and 1 draw from 6 games, whilst Middlesbrough travel on the back of 3 defeats, 2 draws and 1 win, creating 10 places between the two teams.
For Newcastle, Chris Hughton will be without striker Andy Carroll who will serve a 1 match ban for picking up 5 yellow cards so far this season, however Danny Guthrie who missed out last week is available for selection.
Joey Barton remains Hughton's only long standing injury concern and the team will be defending their impressive home record this season as the only club to still have an unbeaten home record in the Championship.
Middlesbrough are also without key players after Seb Hines picked up an injury in their midweek reserve game. Boro are also without Adam Johnson (hamstring) and Sean St.Ledger after his loan spell ended with the club.
Captain Gary O'Neill is set to return.
Fact: Newcastle United have lost just once in their last 14 games against Middlesbrough at St James' Park. That defeat being in 2001.
