Geremi: "My Future Is Here"

Newcastle United midfielder, Geremi has said that his future is at Newcastle, despite failing feature regularly in Joe Kinnear's plans. The Cameroon International has 18 months left on his Tyneside contract, but has been linked with a number of clubs in recent days, including Turkish side Besiktas.

Geremi told The Chronicle;

"I only know what I read in the newspapers and what I hear from my friends who have been calling me and asking what is happening.

I have been linked with a few clubs, but I would say my future is here. Newcastle have not told me I am not wanted.

What I know is that I want to play for Newcastle. I said when I signed that I wanted to complete my three years.

When you are in football, you know what you want. I have no intention to move. I love the Premier League. I also like the Turkish league, but it is totally different.

But you can never say never. If the club say they don't want me, then I would have to think about my future."

Should Geremi leave it would be freeing up approximately £4million in wages over the 18month period he is currently contracted to.
