Stamford's Vic Couzens Stadium

Stamford was the first fixture based in England that the Imps had under the management of Schofield and Deehan. An unusual non-league ground, Stamford is not too far away and although the ground could be easier to get to, it is at least close.

I originally had no intention of going to Stamford for Lincoln's pre-season friendly, however, a few days before and I was invited along with my friend Stewart and decided to just go with it, although I'd be lying if I said the prospect sounded enthralling. Anyway, after a 30 minute drive down the motorway, we arrived in Stamford and the ground was surprisingly close to the entrance of the ground. THen it was just a case of finding a parking space, not hard given the streets around the ground.

Upon entering the ground, I'd be lying if I said I was impressed and barring Lincoln Moorlands and Sleaford, I hadn't been to a non-league ground that had just 1 stand. This stand however was fairly nice considering the level the ground was at, but it didn't offer a good view of the action. Behind each goal, was just open land with no terrace steps or seating. This was also true of the final stand but this one has a roof covering half of it as there was the canteen on this side. The view from the non-seating section however was quite good and you were really close to the pitch, so close infact that you could see the beads of sweat on the player's heads.

Overall, it's not bad for a non-league ground but out of all those I've visited to this date, the only grounds it's better than are Sleaford and Lincoln Moorlands. I'd come here for friendlies but not for a random game.
