Adrian Patulea has now officially left Sincil Bank after signing for Leyton Orient. The striker has had a major falling out with Peter Jackson in recent months, with the fan's favourite being dropped for no reason in the middle of a decent scoring run.
The Romanian quickly became a fans favourite at Sincil Bank, including scoring on his debut against Barnet. He continued to score on a regular basis and ended 2008 with a goal at Luton, however, he was dropped after that in favour of Geoff Horsfield and Anthony Elding. Cameo appearances here and there saw the odd goal, but Peter Jackson publicly started criticising Adrian, with many feeling that the manager was not pleased that Adrian had become more popular than him.
He has signed a two year deal at Orient and we would like to wish him the best of luck.
Anybody who proves to be more popular than Jackson,will not last long-Re Mazza.Wouldnt even let him play the last game of the season,when he knew he was going to get rid of him,and he was fit.Great Managersome people say-youre having a joke.Has managed one club,and failed dismally second time round.We will regret his appointment in the lomg run.
Yes posh as we did with forrseter! Last year all i heard was why is Patulea playing or we need a forrester on the pitch who can score goals. Although i'm sure are 4 kids will score the goals required.
He is not a good player, Impact player yes, but as I have said technically very weak, Runs poor channels and has shown no loyalty to our club, Good Riddance.
Typical non-English player too, diving and playing the opposition player and not the ball.
I for one won't miss him, and I wonder for one alledgedly on such a small wage at lincoln, will afford to live in the smoke. Orient will not pay large wages.....
Definitely right about Jacko though he is a poor manager, good guest speaker but poor manager.
Much better out there but our wonderful Chairman gave him a nice big contract.
Decent enough for League 2 for sure. Not a world beater by any stretch, but you can't argue with his goal-scoring record for us.
Would have liked him to stay, but we still needed something else up front.
On the Kacko front. I was pleased when he came to us, and thought he was the best choice of those available to keep us up at the time. But, last season I totally lost patience with him. All mouth and no trousers. Really sense a poor season coming up, maybe even touching on the business end at the wrong end of the table.
Patulea hasnt the temprament for league 1 and if he makes a success at Orient Ill be very surprised.
The writing was on the wall when we thought he was a free agent and turns out he"d walked out on his last club??
As for his relationship with Jacko,Patulea isnt totally blameless and though Jacko loves the spotlight I think AP got carried away with his popularity amongst some fans!!!
No link available, but noticed in my evening paper;
New Leyton Orient striker Adrian Patulea insists he can make the step up to League One after a season with Lincoln. The Romanian said, "The football is more about passing and is more technical."
Can't say I particularly remember any great passing skills from him. I'll be very interested to see how he gets on. May nip down at some point next season.
