Beevers going? He might as well!

Being out of contract in the summer, Lee Beevers has been linked with a move to Sincil Bank and many believe that he has already signed a deal with another club. The defender's performances in recent weeks have lacked skill, technical ability and the general attitude that indicates that he actually cares about our club anymore.

Lee Beevers joined City from Boston in 2005, debuting in an away game at Leyton Orient, this makes him the current longest serving player at Sincil Bank. He won praise for his committed displays and was even awarded as Fans Player of the Year in the 2006/7 season, but with his contract coming to an end, many have now speculated that his lacklusture performances are down to potentially having already agreed to join another club.

Having been linked with Swindon Town in 2007, that could be his potential destination, although the fact that he can't seem to pass to his own player these days indicates that he will be lucky to stay in the division.

He is alledgely one of the favourites for Player of the Season this time around as well, but his recently performances haven't inspired and quite frankly, I can't wait to get rid of a player who's thoughts seem to be elsewhere.

I have to agree Nathan, he has been poor since the contract was offered, although I think his attitude has been eclipsed by Dany N'G and I would have been happy to see him dropped for the last month of his time at Sincil Bank, he's obviously scared of getting hurt , and saving himself for next season, additionaly he has not done himself or us any favours while so many other clubs have been watching him. Sadly to say it , but I honestly think that for the past 6 weeks he would not have kept his place if Ryan Amoo was still with the club, and thats saying something . !!

Both been missing when we needed them most (the last 10 games) happy to see them both go. Nathan is spot on beevers has not put in a good performance since Frecko left or more notably since we began to close in on the top 7

We won"t miss him,theres plenty of players out of work in the summer and Im sure we can attract a couple of players who have the right attitude and quality to move this club forward

We'll miss him if we cannot get a Full Time left-back who is any good. We have enough cover across the back in the other positions, but not at left back. Beevers strength was never his quality, it was his passion (which seems to have gone) and his versatility.

I know it sounds easy to fill one position, but we have Roayaly failed to do it since Hughes left and even he was playing in front of Mayo at the time.

Good left backs who can cross a ball properly with their left foot are thin on the ground. That is why good ones stay at big clubs for so long.

It's alot of players who haven't been performing, and to be fair over the season he has been excellent up until recently(when we most needed him!!)
