Saturday afternoon sees Trafford make the short trip to Crilly Park to take on a Leigh Genesis side who are desperate to make amends from their midweek mauling at home to Witton Albion.

Experienced goalkeeper Phil Priestley is set for his Genesis debut following the departure of previous number one Adam Judge to join league leaders Chester, who moved for the former Formby 'keeper after he impressed when the two sides drew at the Exacta Stadium earlier in the season.

Genesis boss Alan Kershaw is obviously disappointed with Judge's departure, though he feels Priestley comnig in to the side will have benefits of it's own, while player/coach Andy Heald will also be returning to the Leigh side to add further experience.

"It's disappointing to lose another experienced player and especially in a very important position such as goalkeeper but I wish Adam the very best of luck at Chester. Phil Priestley has been training with us for a couple of weeks and will replace Judge in goal. He has vast experience which will be valuable for the team with so many young players."

Trafford visit Crilly Park in seventeenth position in the Evo-Stik League First Division North after a 2-0 home defeat to Chester in their last outing, though they did run out 4-1 victors when they met Leigh at Shawe View in September.

Kershaw is determined to clear the gloom around the club after Wednesday's defeat and ensure there isn't a repeat of such a scoreline.

"After the game against Witton Albion it's a case of trying to lift everybody's spirits at the club. I was totally shocked by the result after such good progress over the games beforehand."

"It's a very young team and they will always give us 100%, but we now need some results to keep in touch with the teams above us. Between Andy (Heald), Steve (Brockley), Phil (Priestley) and myself we are looking to bring in some experienced players, but it's not always that easy."

Kick off at Crilly Park is at 3pm, with admission costing £7 for adults, £5 for students and over 65's and just £2 for under 18's, with season tickets valid for use and Leigh Genesis Juniors players admitted free of charge as normal.
