Genesis tour isn't over yet!

Due to a rugby league fixture being arranged to take place at Hilton Park on Saturday 6th September, Leigh Genesis have been forced to move the venue of their UniBond Premier fixture with Frickley Athletic to Stainton Park, home of Radcliffe Borough.

After Hilton Park failed a pre-season pitch inspection, Leigh's first two 'home' games of the season, against Ashton United and Ilkeston Town, had to be played at Chorley's Victory Park home.

Since then, Hilton Park's pitch has been brought up to UniBond League standards and therefore fit to host this evening's fixture against local rivals Prescot Cables.

However, due to a complication with Leigh Centurions Reserves having a home play-off fixture on Saturday, and Genesis' preferred alternative venue of Atherton Laburnum Rovers being unavailable, Leigh's fourth home game of the season will now take place at Stainton Park.

As far as the rest of the season is concerned, Leigh Centurions are aware that Leigh Genesis intend to play all of their home fixtures at Hilton Park, at least until the move to the new stadium at the Leigh Sports Village is authorised, and as such a similar situation should not arise in future.

Thanks to Radcliffe for stepping in to the breach, I suppose, but it would have been nice if we could have been a touch more local. Just hope someone informs the Frickley fans!

I get the feeling that we may have a few more home games out of town as well

If the Centurions reserves are playing on it on Saturday and the 1st team on Sunday, its gonna be chopped up again with all the dry weather we're having

WTF moved for a @#$%& reserve game. its not on! im sick of the rugby club treating us like @#$%&! wtf are they doin arranging reserve fixtures on the same day as our home fixtures are the thick. I give up with the rugby team and im not going to support them any more. its just pathetic they way we are treated and for wat a shitty reserve game and they will probly destroy the pitch so we have to play somewhere else again!!!

Let's pray for a dry weekend or else we might be in the same boat again. Why oh why won't WMBC give us a safety certificate for one stand at the LSV?!

Not wrong there, but I think LGFC have to effectively be WMBC's lap dog from here on in and do exactly as they say - if we scratch their back, they'll scratch ours.
