Once we get relegated there was all doom and gloom around the place, other supporters coming onto the forum and having there say and most were generally coming on to have a dig. But for some of the older fans who remember we have been here before and destroyed the league in the 92/93 season, and showed the premiership what were about, when we went up.
So far this season we have started well and have picked up an impressive 39 points from 18 games. The 92/93 season we had 46 points from 18 games. I know gone are the days when teams who are promoted take the top flight by storm, but with the current crop of players we will struggle, this isn't a dig as the lads who have done well this season but we don't have the quality this season compared to the last promotion season.
I just wished we had the likes off Bracwell, Beresford, Clark, Howey, Killer, Venison, Kelly, and then we signed Cole later in the season. I am just hoping we splash the cash and give us the team we deserve and a team that can remain in the top flight. I do hope I am wrong and we go into the premiership not frightened anybody and try to pass people off the park and make us everybody's other supporter second favourite team.
Come on Chris, do a Keegan, and if you, do don't walk. Ashley take a leaf out of Sir John's book and splash some cash. Give us a team which everybody can be frightened to play, in the championship we have but lets get it back in the premiership.
