Hibernian Post Match Reaction

Bolton player coach Gary Speed says that the club must avoid a repeat of their 3-0 thrashing against CIS Cup winners Hibernian on Wednesday night whilst manager Sammy Lee was pleased with the effort put in by the Trotters new signing Heidar Helguson in the first half.

Speed on the defeat at Easter Road

"Knowing John Collins and Tommy Craig as I do, I knew they would be a good outfit. It didn't come as a surprise to me at all.

"I was disappointed by our performance. We didn't play as well as we should have and they dominated most of the game."

Lee on Late goals and pre-season progress

"It was an excellent run out for the lads tonight, I am disappointed to concede the late goals and ultimately lose the game. Our preparation is still on track for the big Premier League start next month and I have no qualms.

"It is a steep learning curve for all of us involved and all credit to Hibernian they really tested us with their flowing football.I always knew they would and under John Collins they have great manager that could take them far again this season.

"For us it is another step further in our pre-season plans. There is still a lot of work to be done between now and the start of the league campaign and we know exactly what we have to do."

Lee on debutant Heidar Helguson

"Heidar was terrific. He did everything asked of him and showed some real class touches. He is a great professional and at times it looked like he'd been with us for years. His effort in the first half, when he hit the bar from 30 yards, shows how instinctive he is in front of goal. I am pleased with what he did tonight and there is great promise ahead for him."

Hibs boss Collins praises his side

"It was a terrific performance - just what we asked for. We always try to pass the ball and we always will and that was the kind of free-flowing football everyone wants to see."
