Wanderers will be taking part in up to nine pre-season friendlies this summer and the first leg of their pre-season preparations takes them over to the Far East region for the second time in three seasons.

Games against Seongnam, Deportivo Guadalajara of Mexico and Spanish side Racing Santander will await Bolton in the Peace Cup over the six days or so and new manager Sammy Lee is confident that his side can emulate fellow Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur and win the competition

Lee will be without four of his first team squad for the tournament as Ali Al-Habsi and Andranik Teimourian are on international duty with their countries.

Swiss international midfielder Blerim Dzemaili will miss the chance of making his Bolton debut after picking up a long term knee injury with former club FC Zurich.

The experienced Idan Tal is also absent from contention for the Trotters as he is back in his native Israel discussing a move to Beitar Jerusalem ahead of the new season.

New signings Jlloyd Samuel, Gavin McCann, Danny Guthrie and Gerald Cid are likely to make their first appearances for the club but fellow new boy Mikel Alonso will not complete the formalities of his move from Real Sociedad in time.

Seongnam are one of the most successful K-League teams of all time having won seven league titles, two Adidas Cups and the Korean Super Cup and manager Kim Hak-Beom can call upon a mostly homegrown squad will the exception of Brazilian forwards Itamar and Mota.

Of note, defenders Kim Sang Sik and Kim Young Chul where part of the Korean World Cup squad in 2006 as was goalkeeper Kim Yong Dae.
