This much coveted Swiss international midfielder became Sam Allardyce's last signing as Bolton manager when agreeing to join Wanderers under the Bosman ruling for the 2007-2008 campaign.

He appeared for his country in the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany and captained his club FC Zurich to success in the Swiss Super League in the 2005-2006 season.

Unfortantely he sustained a knee ligament injury in his final few games at Zurich and this is expected to rule him out of contention at Bolton until at least the Autumn.
