This much coveted Swiss international midfielder became Sam Allardyce's last signing as Bolton manager when agreeing to join Wanderers under the Bosman ruling for the 2007-2008 campaign.
He appeared for his country in the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany and captained his club FC Zurich to success in the Swiss Super League in the 2005-2006 season.
Unfortantely he sustained a knee ligament injury in his final few games at Zurich and this kept him out of action until New Year 2008 when he finally made his Wanderers debut as a substitute during the second half of the FA Cup defeat at home to Sheffield United.
He is hoping for a better campaign in 2008-2009 and has vowed not to become the forgotten man at the Reebok Stadium.
