By Andy Baggott April 14 2008 Portugese winger Felipe Da Costa has been released by Leeds United. The wide man came with high expectations, but hardly featured. He played against Millwall and showed some nice touches, but was then sent off against Bury in the Johnson's Paint Trophy. A ban followed, and he never featured for the side again.
Dennis Wise said that he wasn't ready for English football, and tried to send him on loan - unfortunately there was little interest. Today's announcement is a bit dissapointing, as he looked to have a little bit of flair, but it was certainly no suprise...
proud and tall in the goal mouth stands the viking,
and the eleven foes are never far away.
flasher lorimer, what a shot!
then to tie them in a knot, is eddie "the last waltz" gray!
have often called for the lad to be given a chance but macca, wise, poyet, staunton etc havent rated him, no one wanted him on loan so guess it a good thing, hope sorsa turns out better, has looked decent in reserves and poss next season could be his chance. squad will need an overhaul whether we go up or not carrying a lot of deadwood
If he ends up finding a team in England will to play him he will do okay but I believe he will be back over to France or somewhere like that. No lose as he did not play for us at all.One game does not count.
