Away victories are much like buses for RMI. Following on from Tuesday night’s 1-0 victory at Tamworth, a win that marked RMI’s first three points away from Hilton Park since way back in December 2003, Steve Bleasdale’s side continued their recently excellent form with another 1-0 victory, this time at the expense of fellow strugglers Farnborough.
Bleasdale will be encouraged not only by the victory, but also a strong defensive display which saw his side record their second clean sheet in a row, something that was virtually unheard of throughout the reigns of Phil Starbuck and Geoff Lutley in the RMI hot seat.
Leigh's winner came on the hour mark from Gary Williams who finished calmly after chasing an excellent pass from Chris Simm.
Staying up? Well maybe not, but finally RMI are winning back some pride!
