The last time RMI won on the road they needed a David McNiven goal to clinch a 2-1 victory at Dagenham in late 2003. McNiven departed for Queen of the South during the summer, with the squad changing hugely in that time, not to mention the two different managers that have sat in the Hilton Park hot-seat since then-manager Phil Starbuck.
RMI fully deserved their victory after making a surprisingly good start to the game, forcing Tamworth goalkeeper Ricky Millard in to action on several occasions early on.
On-loan defender Chris Clarke volleyed over the bar before Mark Peers scored his first ever goal for RMI two minutes in to stoppage time to take RMI in to double figures in the league table for the first time this season, with the victory over Forest Green in September the only previous game in the victory column.
