Accrington Stanley 0 Leigh RMI 2

By Matt Lawton
October 31 2004
One of the old addages of Cup football and local derbies is that 'the form book goes out of the window', and that was certainly the case yesterday when RMI booked a place in the First Round of the FA Cup with victory in East Lancashire.
RMI made it to the First Round proper of the FA Cup for the first time in three years thanks to an early Chris Simm goal, and the win was sealed with less than twenty minutes left thanks to a Karl Rose penalty.

Apoligies for the short match report, but this particular reporter had a prior engagement at the Great Britain v. Australia rugby league international, sorry.
