Leigh RMI 0 Hereford United 5

Hereford United
By Jordan Reay April 20 2004
Leigh RMI's relegation from the Conference was well and truly confirmed after a thrashing from Conference top-scorers Hereford. Despite Hereford's efforts, rivals Chester gained promotion on what was a bad day for all involved at Leigh RMI.

FIrst half goals from Tony James, Steve Guinan and Simon Travis gave Hereford a 3-0 lead at the break, it what was an effortless half for the Railwaymen.

RMI produced a battling performance in the second half, Gareth Holmes being a class above the rest in midfield. But despite Leigh's efforts it just wasn't enough after Daniel Carey-Bertram scored Hereford's fourth of the game and 100th of the season.

The visitors made it five late on when top-scorer Guinan slotted home for his 26th goal of the season.
