Woking 2 Leigh RMI 0

By Matt Lawton

RMI have been plunged further deeper in Conference relegation trouble after falling to their fourth defeat in succession as they were completely dominated by Woking.
RMI travelled to Surrey in the hope that they could get their season back on track as they look to try and again avoid relegation from Conference against all odds.

However, two quickfire goals from the hosts in a seven minute spell early in the first half put paid to those hopes for at least another fortnight, with RMI facing the relatively more relaxing prospect of an FA Trophy game at home to Stalybridge Celtic next weekend.

Woking took the lead after fourteen minutes when Neil Sharp headed a Scott Canham corner past RMI goalkeeper Ian Martin, who was again standing in for the injured veteran Gary Kelly.

Woking's lead was quickly doubled within seven minutes when Amos Foyewa fired home from the edge of the box.

Foyewa had another chance shortly after, while Raphael Nade forced Martin in to a decent save as Woking dominated proceedings.

Michael Johnson had the chance to extend Woking's lead but he fired wide after being in a promising position after following up Richard Harris' shot which was parried away by Martin.

It took RMI more than half an hour to get a meaningful chance, when former Barnsley winger Carl Barrowclough fired over the bar.

David McNiven had a chance in the second half but it was all lost for RMI as they stumbled to another defeat, and they will certainly have to have their wits about them next weekend if they are to avoid an FA Trophy shock.
