Margate 2 Leigh RMI 0
By Jordan Reay
October 14 2003
Leigh RMI suffered yet another defeat as they suffered a two goal defeat at the hands of fellow strugglers Margate at their temporary home in Dovers.
The result increases Leigh's winless streak to eight games and further mounts the pressure on Mark Patterson and the Railwaymen.

Margate were fresh off a 4-0 hammering from Dagenham & Redbridge in mid-week, whilst Leigh got a well deserved week off due to International call-ups. Few oppurtunities came around in the first half, former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke converted one of the only chances to give Margate the lead.

The only chance Leigh really had to get back in the game was when Martyn Forrest had a long range effort, only to see it sail wide. Within moments of Forrest's effort, Margate had doubled their lead with 20-minutes remaining, when Jay Saunders drilled home from 18-yards.

Margate could easily of scored another four goals, with Emmanuel Omoyinmi going close twice and both Sean Hankin and Che Stadhart having decent efforts.

Things need to improve at the Leigh camp, else they will have an even bigger fight on their hands to battle successfully against relegation. Leigh RMI's next game is against Barnet at Hilton Park next Saturday, which is no easy task at all. Good luck Leigh!!
