Dorney, Jack 2009/10

Tricky winger Jack Dorney joined Leigh Genesis on loan from League Two side Bury on registration deadline day on 26th March 2009, making his Leigh debut in the 2-1 win over Cammell Laird at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium on 31st March 2009.

Dorney made a successful start to Genesis career by setting up former Bury team mate Jordan Stepien to score the first goal in Leigh's 2-1 victory on Dorney's debut.

The move to Leigh is the first time that Dorney has appeared at a club other than Bury, with whom he has progressed through the youth ranks to appear at first team level.

Dorney scored his first goals for Leigh with one in each half in a 2-1 final day victory away to Hednesford Town on 25th April 2009.

After being released by Bury in the summer of 2009, Dorney had no hesitation in returning to Leigh on a permanent basis.

After scoring eleven goals in a total of fifty eight appearances, Dorney left Leigh after fourteen months at the club, following ex-manager Garry Flitcroft to league rivals Chorley in May 2010.
