Young defender Raphale Evans joined Leigh Genesis on loan in March 2009 from League Two promotion chasers Rochdale, making his full Leigh debut in a 0-0 draw away to Frickley Athletic on Tuesday 24th March 2009.

Evans made his Rochdale first team debut against Shrewsbury Town but has found his first team opportunities restricted during 2008/09, spending a period on loan with Bradford Park Avenue before joining Leigh.
