DEAN PORTER
D.O.B. 27/02/1991

Young goalkeeper Dean Porter joined Leigh Genesis in the summer of 2008 after previously appearing for Wigan Athletic's youth team.
He made his first team bow in a pre-season friendly victory over Warrington Town and since then, coupled with regular reserve team appearances, Porter cemented his spot as back-up goalkeeper to then-number one Steve Dickinson with a place on the bench in each of Leigh's opening UniBond Premier League fixtures.
With previous number one goalkeeper Steve Dickinson leaving the club to join Blue Square North outfit Burscough in November 2008, Porter finally had his chance to impress, and he grabbed it with both hands with a man-of-the-match performance in a 2-2 draw away to Whitby Town on Saturday 15th November 2008.
Porter's first substitute appearance arrived on 21st February 2009 when he replaced Danny Morton in the 3-1 UniBond Premier League defeat away to Guiseley, Porter keeping his first league clean sheet for the final thirteen minutes of the game.
After making a total of twenty three appearances over the course of two seasons, Porter left Leigh in June 2010 to join former Genesis manager Garry Flitcroft at Chorley.
