The club originally planned to be able to take up their residency at the state-of-the-art stadium by the start of the upcoming season, but a series of minor delays mean that Leigh Genesis will continue to play at Hilton Park until November at the earliest.
Leigh Genesis chairman Dominic Speakman commented, "although this is obviously disappointing, it is out of our hands. The developers, council and LSV, to their credit, want to ensure that the stadium is perfect before handover, to avoid ongoing issues once we are in occupation. The stadium looks great and will be an amazing facility in which to take the club forward."
The news unfortunately means that, instead of sampling the club's new facilities, the likes of Boston United, FC United of Manchester and local rivals Prescot Cables will be visiting Hilton Park when they take on the Genesis in the early stages UniBond Premier League season.
All 2008/2009 season tickets will be valid for the appropriate section at Hilton Park but if any fans have any particular concerns in relation to the news then they can speak to the club directly on 0800 634 2878 ahead of the club's first league fixture at home to Ashton United on Tuesday 19th August.
