Watt, Jerome

Exciting winger Jerome Watt joined Leigh Genesis on a free transfer in July 2008 after a successful trial spell with the club, making his Genesis debut as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Eastwood Town on the opening day of the 2008/09 UniBond Premier League season.

The winger began his career as a trainee with Blackburn Rovers, spending two years at Ewood Park before a loan spell with Belgian league side Cercle Brugge.

Upon his return to English football, Watt played ten games for Northampton Town during 2006/07 followed by loan periods with Morecambe and Salisbury City.

Watt started last season with League Two side Rochdale before joining Southport, leaving Haig Avenue to spend the majority of the season alongside fellow Leigh Genesis star Jerome Fitzgerald in Fleetwood Town's UniBond Premier League side.

Watt scored his first Leigh goal after appearing as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Frickley Athletic on 6th September 2008.
