Young midfielder who Leigh RMI in late March 2008 on a loan deal until the end of the season from Blue Square North rivals Southport, having previously played for Prescot Cables and League Two side Bury, making his Leigh debut as a substitute in the 2-1 win over Burscough at Hilton Park.

Prout left the club at the end of the 2007/08 season, joining UniBond League Division One North side Mossley in July 2008.
