Left sided player, equally adept in defence or midfield, who signed for Leigh under the management of Stuart Humphreys from UniBond League side Clitheroe in January 2007 after previously playing for Burnley and Kendal Town. The summer of 2008 saw Roberts return to previous club Clitheroe of the UniBond League Division One North.
