ANDY HEALD

Long-serving player Andy Heald is currently in his third spell with his hometown club after making more than 100 appearances in a Leigh career that has spanned over eight seasons, playing in the centre of midfield, the left of midfield and at left back.

Heald began his career with then-Nationwide Conference outfit Morecambe before joining his hometown club in the summer of 2001, making his Leigh debut in a Nationwide Conference fixture against Hayes in August 2001.

Heald scored seven goals in sixty appearances for the club before joining Stalybridge Celtic in September 2003, later signing for Radcliffe Borough. 

After several years away from Hilton Park, Heald rejoined Leigh in March 2007 and made his 'second debut' came against Vauxhall Motors in a 3-0 home defeat.

Heald scored twice in thirty five games in 2007/08, a season that includes his hundredth appearance for the club, but after appearing in several Leigh Genesis pre-season friendlies, Heald left the club in August 2008 to rejoin Radcliffe Borough.

Heald left Radcliffe not long afterwards and had a spell in the Manchester League Premier Division with neighbours Leigh Athletic that was ended with Heald making his third 'debut' for Leigh in the 3-1 defeat to Hednesford Town at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium on 7th February 2009.

Heald's first goal in his third spell for the club, and tenth goal overall, arrived in the UniBond Premier League 3-1 defeat away to Guiseley on Saturday 21st February 2009.

Despite receiving several offers from rival clubs, Heald committed himself to his hometown club in June 2009 for the coming season.
