Prentonboy......Living just a stone throw away from Twickenham you may find it easier travelling to Whitton Railway station. It's virtually the same distance as Twickenham but doesn't get as rammed and you will be guaranteed a seat on your return back up to Waterloo/Convent Garden after the game. It's on the same line as Twickenham just one stop after.
I'll look out for you at Welling, you shouldn't be to hard to spot with a Tranmere, England rugby and England football shirt on! You'll look like the Michelin man!!!Have a great day.

I have to agree unfortunately, if we were 8th or 9th in the league and the players were putting up a show I could take that, but this year is even more of a joke really. We have spent years watching a club in disarray off the field impacting what goes on in the field of play. MP has come along, built new suites asked the fans to come in and support the team, I have to say we have stepped up, great season ticket sales, good strong gates and yet we are still being delivered absolute drivel on the pitch, I never thought we would walk this league, to be honest I did not think we would win the league but I expected better performances than this. I hate to say it but I think we are witnessing the death throws of a club, the previous lack of investment runs to deep to resolve. I have stuck with it over the years, paying my money but I seriously have to consider wether I will anymore, it's not like we are even getting beaten and saying "Well at least it was a great game". GB is pathetic, I'm sick of hearing about parked busses, this is just an excuse from a coach who can't coach, we need a bit of realism from the club an exceptance that the team is not performing, that the players aren't what we thought they were, a change in tactics and approach to games, It,s getting very reminiscent already of MA, we were great in patches, we started well, we needed a bit of luck, the players need to gel. Horse S$$T. Every team in the league has a new side it's the nature of finances at this level. Woking who we struggled to beat didn't even have enough players on contract to put a team out 5 days before we played them. GET IT SORTED BRABIN.

Second four games 2points pretty shocking!

How poor were we?

Maybe I'm dreaming, but how bad was that!
Gary has changed everything around bar the midfield and every game I've seen that is as bad as ever, something needs to give!

A sending off, just another excuse for everyone to dwell on, you get what you deserve in football, if they were good enough then when it was 11 v 11 we would have killed the game off. Something we have not done yet this season bar Gateshead. Fact is we have signed conference players and average ones at that. We should have been spending our "superior budget" on superior players. This is a tough league and it will take a team capable of league two promotion to win it, not a group of non league never have, never will be rejects.

Can't see us doing anything this season.

So called lesser teams are showing better form and determination than us at this moment in time.

The recent performances suggest to me that we'll be lucky to finish in a play off place.

Too many players being played out of their normal positions.

A good midfielder does not necessarily make a good winger.

We are struggling against part timers.

We are supposed to have an abundance of experienced players at this level? Didn't look like it today.

They made us look pretty poor tbh.

I have a feeling that we might be in the Conference for many years to come based on recent displays.

Expectation is to beat teams in bottom 3 it's that' simple. We are poor & it's down to the manager , if we had 11 men it's unlikely no one would have closed down their captain for their goal supporters need b realistic anything other than relegation. Maynard was awful, except when he scored! The first half, they hammered our right hand side knowing that ihiekwe isn't a RB and Maynard is t a winger.

Such an unbalanced team with no creativity! Always looking for the easy option, normally back, or high.

We were playing the so called cannon fodder of this division today and we struggled for most of the first half.

We don't look good anywhere on the park at the moment.

They looked more likely to win if I'm being honest.
The biggest travesty is playing people out of position and allowing teams to boss the midfield.

Maybe a fresh pair of legsfor the last 20 minutes may have given us that much needed second goal to kill the game off?

Hopefully G.B will appeal the red card and we won't be without the services of Sutton for the next 3 games.

Shocking display by the Match Officials, very poor.

first time for me watching tranmere this season on tv
was a very scrappy game, there wasn't a lot of drive from tranmere until the start of the second half, they were to static and not many players running into space to offer something different, it was good to see Norwood playing and getting 90mins under his belt, so hopefully we will see more of him in the coming games, although i agree we should of subbed him and brought on margetts for the remaining 15-20 mins, the sending off was a joke, and for me i think man of the match was davies
very much looking forward to watching the Grimsby game live on tv on the 18th

POSITIVES:

- Goalie had a great game
-Good to be on TV

NEGATIVES

-We have no attacking width. We are deploying full backs as our wingers and it isn't working.
-Defence too easily opened up and at times made Welling Utd look like Man Utd. Bit more quality and they would have been a couple up
-Lack desire/passion/spirit. Very lethargic display.
-Don't see what Maynard offers (goal was gifted to him btw)
-As for the past few seasons since Wallace left, our central midfield is pretty nonexistent at times.
-We seem to have no shape, creativity, and give the ball away very cheaply
-Brabin - questionable tactics, signings, attitude, substitutions (or lack of today)

We need to grind out results at the moment first half we were poor but, second half we improved and scored early on.

The sending off was the turning point despite what others may think, we were warned officials in the National League were poor the sending off demonstrates this. The referee admittedly was close but, didn't see anything it was the linesman on the other said of the pitch at least 70 yards away looking through players but, with 20/20 vision, incredible decision and we must appeal.

Screamer for their goal however, with eleven, we would have seen the game out.

I had more fun counting the number of clouds in the number of clouds n the sky over here in Italy (there was 1). The back floor was too flat and the centre backs don't cover one an another. If it's a long ball one center back challenges the headed and the other drops off 15-20 yards for cover... basics. It clearly wasn't a red card but with Maynard deciding to try and put every one of our players in A&E with his hospital balls it was always going to be sooner rather than later until we were down to 10 men. When we are coming away from the game lucky to have a point against a club that are one of the favourites to go down, it's going to be a long season.

Sitting watching the England game in the pub and reading some comments written after the game, it's hard to defend GB we were awful, anymore awful than we have been in any other game no should we replace him no not after so few games but our tactics are awful players playing out of position you do wonder what is being worked on during the week? Also we don't look like we have any energy are we preparing right eating right this is a massive part of sport now.
I posted earlier we were sitting right behind there bench when saba went off not seen any post match interviews but there manager was clearly unhappy with him when he was taken off with the new fa rules if the red card is resinded then the player faking injury will receive the ban, with such a small squad and budget he would be a big loss to them as I thought he played well.

Deadly, you mention we would have won with 11 and you agree with what Brabin said about the game:

"I thought we deserved the three points"

"the big turning point for me was when Liam Hogan kicked the ball out for a throw in, the ball hadn't even landed and I've never seen such enthusiasm from a fourth official to throw them another ball back"

If Jennings made a sliding challenge towards the goalscorer before he shot instead of just jogging towards we probably would have undeservedly won 1-0 irrespective if we had 10 or 11 men.

How you can agree with Brabin's comments above means you are as deluded as he is.
How can we deserve the 3 pts after the first half performance when Welling could quite have easily been at least 2-0 up.

On a separate note we need a natural right back, Iheiwke is a centre-half (missing Danny Holmes) and another right winger, Maynard is a central midfielder.

We were better than them second half so on your analysis we deserved it based on that if you're saying they deserved it based on the first half.

That's the reason why Scott Davies get's my vote for MOM.

No matter how poorly we played first half until we went to ten men second half, they never looked like scoring,

The TV pundits Little and Hargraves more not have said we deserved to win but, they both agreed we would have won and could not see Welling scoring FACT, as they say.

Just another point, football matches last 90 minutes not 45 minutes and it was a tail of two haves.

Very poor first half but, better second half.

The maximum we deserved on balance of play was a point and not three. The pundits are right in saying we have the quality and experience but they haven't seen as allow weaker teams a foothold all season.

I have thought both Halifax and Boreham Wood would never score but that doesn't mean they won't if we play rubbish for long enough. In fact, Halifax nearly equalised with their own worldy from a free kick.

The point is we should be playing with a pattern and causing the part timers more trouble, more often. That is at the managers door as he decides on how we play.

I respect the way some people on here are being positive and supportive of the team but there is fair criticism that can be levelled - and it's not being done at the match on an aggressive way.

I do find it a bit arrogant to be labelled as a 'fan' just because I disagree with the positive slant.

Kenny_crons everyone's opinion counts as its there opinion just some are more valid than others I have made posts in the past which have been ridiculed but that's fine that's what are opinions are about that's what football is about opinions and differencing of them if we all had the same it would be a boring world

Thankfully I live within the M25 and was able to get back home via the pub quite quickly, unlike the majority of supporters. My indepth revue of this game is in two words 'utter garbage'. I do not expect 'ticker tacker' football in the league we currently find ourselves in but I do expect us to be able to pass the ball to feet, control the ball and throw it to a player with the same coloured shirt on! We are a team of "professionals" playing yet again a team of part timers. I have seen pub teams on a Sunday morning playing better than us!! I don't know whether this is a management problem or the players are just not up to it but unless something changes we will struggle and may even find ourselves playing Stockport next season. I don't take any joy in having already predicted a double relegation but something needs to change and quickly.

Only watching on the tele like but have to say I disagree with we would of won with 11 men. We were second best and lucky to escape with a draw welling will be dissapointed with a point and now the rest of the national league have seen what a poor disjointed rabble we are at the moment. Onwards and upwards I say big game next week without the support of us they are gonna get turned over

I was actually sat amongst a group of mainly Welling season ticket holders on the half way line by where the players came out. They were not disappointed with the point-they were delighted.

I agree with Brabin re the officials. It looked liked the ref was applying two sets of rules one for each team. A prize example of this were the two incidents with Hill just before half time, the first where he was blatantly tripped near the centre circle and the second almost identical where he tripped one of their player seconds later. We didn't get a free kick. They did and Hill got a talking to!!

Kabba deserved an Oscar for getting Sutton sent off-should get a long ban for that sort of cheating. He is the first player in this division that I thought was a blatant cheat.

Brabin is an idiot...... Same@#$%&comes out of his mouth every week, he will be sacked after we lose the Chester game at home !!!!

I like the way some people are psychic and quote things as an actual happening. Unless you're one of the Palios', Braodbent or Shaw, in which case using an alias to criticise your manager isn't professional, then what you said is complete pie in the sky, as your comment effectively heralds a defeat by Chester and an automatic sacking of Brabin as a result.

However he will be sacked when Palios chooses, not when anyone else wants or thinks it will happen and Tranmere will lose to Chester if that happens, not because anyone says they will lose.

As for people criticising manager talk after games, well what do people expect? If when you lose or draw games, you get asked the same old questions often by the same old journalists, you'll get the same kind of responses a lot of the time, so if people don't like it then instead of criticising the managers, ask the journalists to change their questioning style frequently, so the manager can't say similar things a lot.

"I didn't promise the club promotion, I said we'd be competitive'" I could make a competitive team out of Sunday league players... BET BRABIN OUT !!!!!!!

Assuming you are better than Brain at management and frankly there is no evidence to support this, unless you're Jose Mourinho in disguise, which I doubt, then all you'd have is a bunch of "have a go zero's", who might go down with 0 points, but look a bit plucky when doing it and frankly I don't want a team like Tranmere relegated, but I'd rather have a disappointing relegation side, going down 2-3 points off safety, than under qualified high tempo players getting 2-3 points and embarrassing the club and manager with 40+ defeats.

As for the results it's 2 points dropped which I'm cheesed off about, but hopefully Tranmere will win next time.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

If that's referring to my 'fans' quote above it wasn't aimed at anyone or any opinion on here mate. It's referring to the behaviour of certain people at the game (yet again).

Just thought I'd clarify that!

To those saying that they never looked like scoring, they had all the best chances. Yet we could have had 22 men on the pitch at the time of the goal, it still would have gone in!

That's the problem with 1-0 leads, one moment of excellence/luck and it's all gone.

Ill have that but we squandered a two nil lead last week at home to an eequally poor team. So basically I have the solution we need a ten nil lead and alot of crossed fingers as well probably squander that too or more likely at 5-0 Brabin will bring on a couple of goalies to strengthen the midfield. I heard him say hes signing a Scottish international whos great in front of the net and is great at putting up with rackets so the drum shouldn't worry him. I think he said his name was Andy Murray or something, must be great if Brabins scouted him.

I think asking for the head of Brabin is ridiculous. It was never gonna be an easy season. Brand new team, new league, completely different style of play and we are the big club, something to get used to.

Give it time! It's only a month into the season!

Even if we don't go straight back up this season, it's not gonna be the worst thing.

Why not, we have recruited a so called experienced manager from this league and given him one of the bigger budgets in the league.
Brabin has taken experienced players from this league in most cases their best players ie Harris, Norwood & Maynard.
Maynard has to play in a central position, I would even play him just behind the front 2 (in a old Gerrard role) pushing forward at every opportunity, you can see he has goals in him and it would take a bit of pressure of the front 2.
Harris and Jennings can sit behind him as the defensive midfield.
We have to play more on the front foot, trying to play football and stroking the ball around will not work in this league.
We have seen this season how often play is broken up by the opposition so we need to adapt.
For 5 mins at the start of the second half yesterday was when we were only effective, playing on the front foot.
At the moment we don't look like we are going to create chances and you don't feel as if we are going to win.
We can all see we need a right back and width and yet Brabin still persists in playing Ihiewke at RB.
The chopping and changing is reminiscent of last season under Adams, he needs to stick with the same side particularly the frontline which is different every game and not down to injuries. It looks like Stockton is out of the equation but we all know he is a confidence player, dropping him will not help, after all he's still only a kid.

A few personal observations from yesterday's game:

GK: Davies - Stood out but should not have needed to if the 10 men in front of him had been more positive
LB: Hall Looked off the pace in the first half - better in the second half without being outstanding
CB: Hogan CB: Sutton: Did some sound defending but did not inspire confidence that they knew what they were doing together when not defending set pieces. No idea why Sutton was given a red card.
RB: Ihiekwe; Didn't know whether to go forward or stay back ending up doing neither for most of the game. Should have been encouraged to back his pace and run at his man going forward. Didn't get much help from Maynard.
LM: Ridehalgh: Our one consistent player. Tried to be positive throughout
CM: Jennings: Did not command the midfield in the first half giving Welling the chance to dictate the pace
CM: Harris: See Jennings: I couldn't tell the two apart for much of the first half, they were playing far too deep and giving the Welling midfield too much time.
RM: Maynard: If Brabin needed proof that Maynard can't play wide right this was it. Should have had the Welling defence in knots but appeared not to have confidence in his own abilities. Scored with a header which suggests he might want to play Centre back.
ST: Mangan: Don't mind a selfish forward but there is a time and place and his insistence of trying to shoot through a forest of Welling defenders when there were easier options available did not endear him to me.
ST: Norwood: Did a lot of good running and showed glimpses of the ability for which he was brought in. Caused some problems for the Welling defence.

Overall: Started slowly and allowed Welling to take the initiative and dictate the pace of the game. Silly mistakes at the back meant that we were lucky not to be behind at half time, thanks to Scott Davies being on top form. Good start to the second half was not built upon. The sending off was unfortunate but came in a spell when Welling were already looking threatening. We need to be playing on the front foot as it is plain that we cannot rely on defending a slender lead.

If we are going to challenge for promotion we need to be playing at a speed of play and accuracy of pass that means that teams like Welling are forced to defend on the turn and are not given the opportunity to build from the back as was the case yesterday.

Every ball's a White ball!

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, I apologise if it has but I see the club are thankfully appealing Sutton's red card yesterday.

After having had time to reflect on Saturday's game I thought I had to add what I thought on here haha!

Put simply I thought we were dreadful on Saturday, absolutely terrible. I mean what system are we playing, what is the direction, philosophy?

The system we played in the first half relied on the fullbacks to provide the width. As many have said, Iky is a centre back so is never going to bomb on a put a cross in, and attacking isn't exactly Matt Hill's forte.

Now that is o.k if you have good wingers in front of them, which we most certainly haven't. We get the ball, pass it into midfield, goes out wide, back to keeper and repeat. Then we launch it out to Maynard in the hope he wins a header. We have a left back playing left wing, and whilst he has done fairly well so far surely he can't be expected to chip in with goals and assists every week?

Jennings and Harris are far too similar and offer nothing going forward. So basically we are lining up with players all over the place, and 2 strikers feeding off literally nothing at all. I am extremely concerned Brabin has had a supposedly big budget for this level and we are now in September and he hasn't a clue what formation or system to play.

Yes we might have won but for the red card, and it was a wonder goal. But if we want to talk about decisions our goal came from a corner that was a goal kick. Winning would have papered over the cracks I'm afraid. We have got big big problems and whilst for me it's too early to be calling for a managers head, more performances like this and it won't be long before the Brabin out shouts get louder.
