To be fair I feel more confident about this game than the Luton one. That was an unfortunate loss, plus Jase, Cole, Richards and Woodards are back. And we have way more strength in depth than any other game this season. We are in with a chance.

Baffling team selection. Brezovan in goal despite last week's goal conceded being partly down to him, Rowe can't get a game despite being the best player when he played the other week in the JPT....

Can't do much before the Window opens, the players are the ones who need to take a look at themselves.

Half of the current squad shouldn't even be here, they are simply not good enough to wear the shirt.

Who do you suggest we get in then Goosed? Assuming they would actually want the job to begin with?

Micky Adams has inherited a team of duds, they are not good enough to play at this level and are only here because they are being paid buttons.

Our current dilemma stems from the former chairmans reign, until we are able to take control, i.e the window opens, we are having to use these inept players and try and strengthen using the loan market.

I have every faith in Micky Adam's ability to keep us up this season. He's only had about 6 weeks in the job with a team of players he would probably love to get shut of given the chance.

Hahahhahahahaha! I was feeling bad when we lost, but this has cheered me right up! Oh football fans... Pretty sure that when Adams was appointed someone joked that by November the Adams out comments would start? Seriously it's laughable. I mean seriously if any of you people were in charge we'd bring in a manager, sack him, then bring a new one, sack him after two losses, bring in another one, laud him as the saviour of the club after a couple of draws... then sack him as well. I despair.

To be fair the players who let themselves down the most were Donacien, Jennings and the Brighton lad. they were all terrible. Power and that new centre back were our best players. Both looked like they had a bit of spirit.

Donacien, hollness awful. Number 30 no affect on the game at all. Brebazon forgot where his goal was on about 4 occasions. Too many changes made from the team that played luton for me. Looked slightly better in the 2nd half but to be fair they looked very dangerous everytime they went forward. Danny holmes needs to play next week as does koumas. Too many loans played today.

Disappointing holness was awful can't pass can't defend and wasn't a captain today too quiet. The new hull loanee 30 Martin was to small out muscled but tried, donacien had awful crossing, Stockton did ok but his shot that went out for a throw in was poor with jase and power waiting to be played in. Need to go 4-4-2 this 3-5-2 or whatever we play isn't working as the full backs can't cross aimson did well on his debut bar and own goal just need a better mid and wingers to supply service to the strikers.

I was amazed by how much better, stronger, skillful, organized.. Southend were than us, the gulf between class was huge. And why is Donciean playing a winger role?? he cant go past a man, cant cross, and cant take a quick throw in?!... baffling.. wrong starting line up today as other had said, too many changes, was asking a bit much to expect to gel instantly. We have a lot of work to do on the training ground.

The manager's tactics were wrong today. We were one man short in midfield-Laird should have started rather then Martin. We were over run on many occasions in midfield-their little lad Payne [number 19] was outstanding. The best player on the pitch by a mile.

What has Holmes done wrong to be left out of the team-he IMO has been one of our best,if not the best, this season.

The players in the last few matches seemed to be playing for each other-today with 4 changes we were like a team of strangers, particularly in the first half.

Ridehalgh was at fault for both goals-for the second one,he should have pulled their winger back and taken the yellow card 'for the team'.

Southend were first to every ball and should have been out of sight long before the end. That they weren't was because of some good saves by Brezovan[rightly starting in goal] and some wayward finishing.

Of the new loanees,Aimson did ok,as did Fenelon in patches. Was not impressed with Martin who was too easily brushed off the ball throughout and didn't exactly put himself about in the first half.

Not a great result and I'm disappointed about the own goal, as it's another bit of bad luck when you don't need it.

However the team won't go down. It's the defense and goalkeepers that are the best part of the whole squad and a few other people like Jennings and Stockton, but when the goals start coming a bit more Tranmere will be fine.

Lets' not forget until the last 2 weeks Tranmere had 3 draws and 2 wins from 5 games and were competitive against Luton, so if that kind of improvement compared to the end of Edward's period continues, then form will increase and the team will be fine.

However the team and the manager need to put this substandard performance to bed and come out and just get over it move on and come out fighting next time.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

I'm not saying anything about Adams he inherited this lot.the players we signed in the summer at not of this level and to me not even close.some of them players today back out of headers and are scared to go in for a challenge and then we pay them a wage for it.we can't even throw the ball to a player in a white shirt from a throw in.holness can't kick a ball to a player in white.strikers can't score and we have about 10 of them.trust me everyone we need a miracle.no win in the league since August were on our way to the conference and going there without a fight

Once again the defence was all over the place, felt sorry for the new lad as Michael and Holness both had a mare, we were outfought out muscled out thought out tactic ed.we have had a change at the back for most of the games this season and one of the reasons we struggled last season we kept changing at the back.

But for me the reason we were bad at the back is because we had nothing and I mean absolutely nothing up front. Shocking for a pro!
If we had not be losing I'm certain our striker(ha!) would have been dragged off!

The defensive ranks will keep the team up if they stay up, the team under Adams has kept 2 clean sheets in 7 games, and at worst only conceded 2 open goals in a match in the other 5, as 2 of the 3 games where they did concede twice they had an own goal in them.

If the team can get players like Stockton and Madjo bagging a few and Koumas comes back to add a bit of experience and clout in the middle and players like Woodards get back in the fray they will be alright I feel in the long-term.

Bearing in mind there will be the opportunity to get a few new faces in in January and Tranmere have in the last 7 games battled back from behind on 3 separate occasions to get a result one of which they won.

It looks somewhat troublesome a situation but there's enough time to build on the improvements made since the last 4-5 games of Edwards and I think the team will do it and so will Adams.

It was clear in the summer that this squad was a relegation squad. In part blame could be placed on Edwards but it did seem that the only priority was to reduce the paybill regardless of the consequences,There was no clear strategy and spin like moving away from loanees now looks hollow.A player or two less would have been better if it had allowed us to keep Lowe.
It is hard to blame Adams he has inherited a dreadful collection of players.Shuffling the pack with Bell Baggies and Rowe cannot disguise the fact that these are players that more often flatter to receive. Likewise with Laird.
Ltd is clear that Adams does not rate the squad but at this stage of the season it is difficult to reshape on the scale needed. The last week still looks like quantity taking priority over quality.
I cannot see the logic of those that think will escape relegation. Our inability to beat poor teams suggests that we are where we deserve to be and where we will stay.Six points gap is massive for a team who have played for more than a quarter of a season without a win.

Its not like the squad is going through a bad patch like squads in the past. My friends and I are already planning away trips for next season. Bear in mind, Adams has been restricted to loan signings and dead wood from Edwards rein. By January we will have more of idea of how the final part of the season will pan out... I still feel we are playing the wrong system, don't know if Adams thinks we aren't capable of playing 4-4-2 or if he prefers 5-3-2?

We have decent defence if we play 4-4-2 we have full backs who can defend reasonably well, they are not wing backs and cant cross the ball, they are now being asked to attack and seem to have forgotten there 1st priority should be defending.

What has baggie done wrong? Assume this is baggage from previous encounters with Adams as he hasn't even given his a chance so far.

Stockton isn't good enough, spends to much time standing still trying to get a foul, he needs to be playing with someone who has decent movement and can open up space for him, he will get us 10 goals.

I agree with the other comments that we will stay up, but only if we change the system, if we continue to play 3 at the back and 2 wing backs that cant beat a man or cross we are sunk!

New guys looked ok but to many changes every week, pick a team and give them a run in the team.

I am concerned with the lack of ambition and decision making from the bench on match day, we don't seem to have a plan B if plan A is obviously not working, it was crying out for changes on Saturday but nothing really came and lack of passion/direction from the bench was a worry. Almost oh well see what happens next week!

Get Danny Holmes back on the pitch for some effort and passion!!

I'd like to see a settled 11. That being said, i think changes are needed before we settle!!

I'd drop Ridehalgh & Holness and play Holmes, Ihiekwe Donacien & new CB as a back 4.

Wasn't sure about the No. 30 as he seemed a bit lightweight & too easily shoved off the ball, so either Baggie, Rowe or Richards in for him

I think there is also a case to start Odejayi for his height and size, with another more nimble striker playing up there with him.

Criticise the No 30 for being lightweight fine - but on that basis only Richards might be viewed as a possible alternative, the other two being extremely lightweight.
Rowe's other main shortcoming appears to be an attitude problem if rumours from within the club are to be believed, excessive sulking when not selected. Hardly suggests that he is up for the battle!

But Richards and Rowe at least try when they are on the pitch. In the first half,No 30 [Martin]did not exactly push himself to get involved. In your first match,I would have thought that you do your level best to create a good impression-he didn't. After half time,he improved. But it was too late then.

On the subject of ''excessive sulking'',Baggie briefly appeared at the back of the director's box about 15 minutes before kick off. He,to put it mildly, did not look as if he was full of the joys of spring.

However he had the use of certain players, that some could say are some of the better players in the squad, like Stockton, Koumas, Hill and Woodards, three of which Adams has not been able to use regularly and arguably would do and in Stockton's case has just recently been able to use.

However compare the last 5 games Edwards was in charge for, versus the next 5 under Adams, with basically the same squad bar a couple of new short-term additions.

Edwards 4 losses and 1 draw.

Adams, 3 draws and 2 wins, 5 games unbeaten.

Adams has managed that with quickie additions and an injury hit squad, however Edwards enjoyed, bar Ridehalgh, a full squad to use in the initial instance and I'm certain players like Hill, Koumas and Woodards would be strong bets for getting a game practically every week under Adams, were they fully fit.

There's plenty of time to turn things around and I'm confident things will turn around, but some momentum needs rekindling quick, or the recent run of form will look like a brief bit of escapism from the previous concerns.

It is almost definite that there will be a clearout once the window opens.

Think Micky Adams and Mark Palios need to instil into these players that they are now playing for their futures at the club.

A kind of verbal warning if you like, it is apparent that there are a few who think it's fine to put in half a shift.

Got to ensure every single player gives their all, or they will be on the way out come January.

The gap is already alarming, and unless we sort things out, we could end up bottom of the pile with a 12 point gap by Christmas.
