If you can't make Tranmere's game at home to Coventry City on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend...
Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too. As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game.
Tranmere of course, host Coventry City on Saturday afternoon in Skybet League One, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on? You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live. What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

As Coventry have no strike force, Rovers have to take the game to them, try to dominate possession, play a high line.
If we sit back, then nothing has changed.

For me this is the pivotal match of the season.It will show us if the "Alleged Goings on" have affected the players....are they fully behind John Mac. and put in one hell of a performance or are they going to go through the motions and pick up their pay and roll up again next week...today my friends is the moment of truth!
Arsenal calling back their main striker is a touch of luck we finally get!

Yet another " must win game. " 2-0 to the boys in white.
They have a severe shortage of strikers but we rarely win at home, im going for 1 1

Good game. Showboating cost us a silly goal though in the end
Think we have the best suspended manager in league 1 lol
Looks like you could have been right with the 'lost the dressing room'. They seemed more motivated today although midfield looked light at times

Get in there 3 much needed polnts and we played really well and were well worth the win

A great result and hopefully things can carry on in the same vein.

Proper football
we used the extra man in midfield playing 433 to pass the ball through the middle and up the pitch, we actually strung passes together instead of 1-2-hump.
Pressed lot higher up the pitch harried and worked as a team (from the dugout all the coaches/goodi/robbo were working together)
The effort + positive play (pressing and passing) got the crowd happy and some football at times was superb.
Jenno outstanding as was Kennedy and wallace.
Only thing i'd look at is Lowe up top and maybe a pacey right winger on loan? I like jake but he's 2nd fiddle to Ryan Lowe for me and Lowey should not be playing right wing.
Well done to john Mc and the boys and hopefully a sign of how we intent to play moving forwards. Next 2 games offer a huge chance of 2 more wins and we're not far off the top half!!!

A really positive and confident performance today with players being confident and not panicking when in possession of the ball. Best performance all season.
Back 4 looked solid especially the loan signings. Midfield ran the show & Wallace and Koamas a different class. Not sure that the forward line poses any real threat and althought the keeper pulled of some great saves he was also lucky with others and is terrible at coming of his line and helping the defence out.
Play like they did today and they will finish mid table.

Agreed.also thought Jennings was outstanding.breaks up so much play.was my mom today.i think a lot of his work gets in noticed.kennedy ran his socks off.definately promising signs the players wanted to play for Johnny mc.onwards and upwards hopefully another 3 points next week v oldham

However's it's silly to say its down to McMahon as from what I'm hearing (Jennings playing well etc) it's sounds to me as if we're just continuing our recent improvement in performances under Ronnie (MK, Bristol City and even at times against Preston) and transferring it to our home form now too.
Still the same team as last game and still Lowe not playing as the main striker but it was working under Ronnie and seems to continue to do so!

A very good performance in which we dominated the game for long periods and the scoreline flatters them somewhat as we should have won by more goals.
We got the ball down and passed it around very well and were on our game right from the very start. There was a better tempo and we certainly played much better football than we have done for a long time.
Jennings was my mom although the midfield 3 all played well, Koumas is getting better all the time and Wallace seems to be getting back to his old self.

There's a lot of local lads in the team and they'll respond well to McMahon who seems very down to earth, and a good man manager!
The only slight issue for me is the Kennedy substitution, as I think Robbo could have been brought on about 10 minutes earlier, because Tranmere were three up anyway and I think it would be better for the under 20's / 21's, to be given a bit less pitch time, so they're not potentially overworked.
75 minutes should be long enough in a match, to allow most 17, 18, 19 year olds to get 15-20 minutes rest at the end of games, so as to be able to start every game when not injured, without jeopardising their fitness and sharpness.
If you push them too much, to the point where they could start to look a bit jaded in training and lose a bit of their sharpness, it could affect performances and might prevent you starting them sometimes when you'd like and having to sometimes sub them on for 30 minutes in the second half, when they can't make the same impact you'd hope for.

If a 20 year old lad can't play 90 minutes after being a regular in the squad for 7 or so weeks then there's a problem there. Especially in a game like yesterday where we were cruising and he was playing brilliantly.
Plus Robbo can barely last 10-15 mins never mind another 20 on top.
Besides, he's been recalled by Everton now anyway!

If it is a choice between an unfit veteran or a tired youngster. I would go for the latter everytime. The real worry is that with Kennedy gone we have no obvious player to step in. Robinson is now part of the problem rather tahn a solution and I would be amazed if he was retained at the end of this season.
With the Oldham game a six pointer,we could not have a worse time to loose 2 players who were contributing to a team that has been looking better balanced
