Tranmere to face Chesterfield in League Cup

Tranmere discover Capital One Cup first round draw
Tranmere Rovers have been drawn away to Chesterfield in the first round of this season's League Cup.
The Wirral club were seeded for the first round of this season's competition following their twelfth placed finish in League One, meaning they could only come up against a northern based League Two side or a northern League One side who finished below them in the table.
The fixture will be played on the week commencing August 13th and will be the first match of the season for both clubs, due to the start of the league campaign being pushed back a week because of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The Spireite's, who's win over Tranmere in March signalled the end of Les Parry's reign as Tranmere manager, also knocked Rovers out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season, a tournament they went on to win before being relegated from the division.
Tranmere do have history in the tournament, famously reaching the final in 2000 under the management of John Aldridge, this after John King's side were knocked out at the semi-final stage by Aston Villa in 1994.
Elsewhere in the draw, there is a Yorkshire derby between Doncaster Rovers and York City, who returned to the Football League this spring, whilst Football League newboys Fleetwood host Nottingham Forest.
The League Cup will this season be sponsored by Capital One, after they took over the sponsorship of the competition from Carling. Capital One are the first non-drink based company to sponsor the tournament since Rumbelows in 1992.

Uninspiring draw really but it's a team in the League below so potentially winnable I guess.
