Tranmere Team of the Decade – 2000’s – Right-Midfielders

We continue our search for the Tranmere Team of the Decade (2000-2010) with this week seeing the launch of the vote to find the best right-midfielder of that era......
Last week, Jason Koumas became the sixth person voted in to our Tranmere Rovers Team of the Decade, beginning the soon to be four-man midfield by taking his place on the left side of midfield.
This week, as we continue our search, we ask you to vote for Tranmere's best right-midfielder of the past ten years, a position in which Tranmere have had a number of decent players in the past decade and possibly set to be the tightest vote so far.
You have seven days to vote for your favourite right-midfielder, with the winner taking a spot in the team alongside the other six Rovers legends currently on the side.
The candidates are as follows...
Paul Hall
Paul Hall is another player with a short but fairly impressive Rovers career. After joining Tranmere in March 2004, Hall made 57 starts scoring 14 times before leaving at the end of the following season (June 2005) to take up an offer of a two-year deal at Chesterfield rather than a one year extension offered by Rovers after Tranmere had lost out in the play-off semi-finals to Hartlepool Utd.
A winger with attacking intent in abundance, Paul Hall was a player whom Rovers fans were sorry to see leave the Club and his departure was perhaps a contributing reason in Rovers subsequent relegation fight the following season.
Iain Hume
After progressing through Tranmere’s youth system following a move from his Canada home, Hume spent six years at Tranmere as a professional between 1999 and 2005.
118 starts and 37 goals are the stats for Hume’s Rovers career and he was a popular player amongst almost all Rovers fans, as his recent return for John Achterberg’s testimonial proved.
Eventually leaving Rovers for £500,000 to join Leicester after Rovers just missed out on a play-off final spot in 2005, Hume has since played for Leicester, Barnsley and is currently at Preston.
Andy Parkinson
Originally a Liverpool youth player, Parkinson made his big breakthrough at Tranmere after finishing off his young career in the Rovers set-up under Warwick Rimmer and his colleagues.
His Rover’s careers spanned seven years between 1996 and 2003 and like a number of players already voted into the dream team, covered the Cup Giantkilling era in the 1999/00 and 2000/01 seasons.
Parkinson made 130 appearances for Rovers scoring 25 times including the memorable solo effort at home to Middlesbrough in the Cup.
Jason Price
Jason Price only had an 18 month career at Prenton Park between November 2001 and July 2003 but that spell saw him score 15 goals in just 35 starts which made him a popular players amongst fans despite his brief Rovers career.
Although he didn’t score on his Rovers debut away at QPR as Rovers won 2-1, he did score twice on his home debut against Brigg Town and subsequently scored seven goals in five games and ended the season on twelve goals, eleven of which were scored for Tranmere.
Chris Shuker
After joining Tranmere in the summer of 2006 following reported interest by Rovers for a couple of summers prior, Shuker spent four years at Prenton Park until the summer of 2010 and made 123 starts for the Club scoring 18 goals in the process.
An serious knee injury sustained on Boxing Day of the 2007/8 season kept Shukes out until March and a lot of fans will concur that he was never really the same player after the injury although he did still show flashes of what the fans knew he was capable of.
Who, then, will be Tranmere's right-midfielder in our team of the decade? You can decide by voting between now and Sunday 6th March when the votes will be counted and the winner announced and a feature story published on www.total-tranmere.co.uk.

This is the hardest poll so far.
I went for Parky, Hume for me was a striker. Was a tough call between Parky and Hall though.

The selections (quality wise) are truly shocking to wingers we've had in the past!! Price? Hall had a good season at best.. Parky great servant but weren't technically an exceptional player, had to go for Hume but he rarely beat full backs and delivered fantastic balls as Ur nevins an mogsys did... More of a supporting striker really..
