Weather Report
A mild and dry night for the fans that turned up for the game. It got a little colder later on but no-one from a Tranmere inclination probably cared by 9.30pm
Crowd
6,032 fans were inside Prenton Park which by recent Tuesday night standards this season is a pretty decent turnout - those that did turn up certainly got what they deserved - if they were a Rovers fan at least!
Referee Watch
D Foster - A quiet game for the referee bar the penalty shout in the first half for Leicester when Matty Fryatt went down like a sack of spuds and then the decision he did give to Rovers in the second half with which Jennings sealed the win from the spot - 8/10
Best Moment
Hard to choose one really on what was the best night of being of a Rovers fan for a long long time. Kay's goal that put us ahead was a great moment but the penalty that sealed the three points was sweet indeed.
Worst Moment
For once it would be hard for me to pick a worst moment for this game as everyone in a white shirt had a great game and of course a clean sheet was also kept so no goals to complain about.
Tranmere Man of the Match
Ian Goodison - The award could really have gone to anyone in a Rovers shirt tonight with excellent performances all round but in particular from Charlie Barnett, Steven Jennings, Ryan Shotton and Bas Savage but simply for his performance at the heart of the back four the Man of the Match goes to Ian Goodison.
Connections
Former Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Coyne was of course between the posts for Tranmere tonight and deservedly kept a clean sheet against his former Club.
Rovers Fans
A small number of fans moved from the Kop for tonight's game to join those that sit at the Cowshed end of the Johnny King Stand and along with those still left at the top of the Kop, made lots of noise to get behind the team even before the two goals that sealed a fantastic evening to be a Rovers Fan!
Leicester City Fans
Seemed quiet for most of the game but although their side looked good going forwad at times, they didn't have a great deal to shout about during the ninety minutes as Rovers defended superbly throughout.
Summary
The best performance by a Rovers side for four years since the second leg of the Hartlepool play-off game, if not better than that game but most importantly three more points in the race for a play-off place which may now come down to weather Rovers can finally get a win at their recent bogey ground of Boundary Park in Oldham in ten days time.
Entertainment Value
For Rovers fans it was excellent all the around but the game it self was full of tricks and flicks from both sides and lots of great attacking football. There was rarely a dull moment in this encounter - 10/10
