Moore on Monday: "Swindon Will be Tough"

In his regular Monday press conference, Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore looked ahead to next Saturday's home game against Swindon Town and also looked bak on the recent busy schedule his squad has faced.
In his regular Monday Press Conference, Rovers Manager Ronnie Moore looked ahead to Saturdays home match against Swindon Town whilst also reflecting on the busy schedule his side has had to face in recent weeks. playing Saturday and Tuesday for three weeks on the trot.
Moore told the press..............
"They beat Scunthorpe on Saturday but at one stage they were 2-0 down before Scunthorpe went down to nine men. They then won 4-2, and we sent a scout to watch it, but it's hard for a scout to come back with a report when the team they're playing against is down to nine men."
"But they're playing Hartlepool at home tomorrow so I'll go and watch it and have a look at them. It will be another tough game. The atmosphere here on Saturday was fantastic. The drum was beating and the fans got behind us. There weren't as many here as we want, but there's a great offer on for Saturday (£5 for supporters aged 17 to 22), and if we get the fans in they can be worth a goal for us."
"We're working hard and I can't fault the lads' effort. Their commitment to the cause has been brilliant. It's just sometimes we have to improve the decision making when we're in the attacking third."
"We'll ease off a bit this week. Playing every Saturday and Tuesday takes it out of you. We've got seven games coming up in March so there's a lot of interesting football to come. It's better than being mid-table with nothing to play for. We know what we have to do and that is win games."

Like I said on the MK Dons discussion, if we were to play with Terry behind Ian I think it could work given his neat little touches he made when he came on for the last 10 minutes, he seems to know what's going on around him and who is where, which is great for someone of such a young age, and with his pace he could probably free up a lot of space for players out wide or for through balls to Ian. He's a decent unknown talent to other managers and we should be using that to our advantage.

He's right, we do need to win games, and that's not meant in a patronising way at all, going right back to the 1992/1993 season the least number of points a side has finished 6th with is 70. We are 21pts off that target, so we need to win at least 7 of our remaining 14 matches. Now, we only have 6 remaining home games, so away wins are a must, and those games against the likes of Hartlepool and Northampton are precisely the away games where we can pick up points. If we can win our last 6 home matches (although Leicester will be a real task, but they don't get harder than that as the other 5 teams have lost more than they have won on the road), and win any three of the away matches to Hartlepool, Northampton, Brighton and Cheltenham, we would be on 76pts, which should be enough to get us there...
To put it simple, if we win the games we should be winning, then we should be in the play-offs at the end of the season. Drop points and we are going to have the difficult task of winning away to sides with fantastic home records (then again, over the years that's exactly what we are best at doing!) The target should be 2 wins every three games at least
