Haynes Expecting Challenge

Town striker Danny Haynes is expecting to fight for his place in the Town team next season.

The 18-year-old has been used mainly as a substitute this season but has still managed to be Town’s fourth top scorer behind Nicky Forster, Jimmy Juan, Darren Currie and Sam Parkin, but with Parkin and Forster both likely to be fit for next season Danny admits he will have a fight on his hands to get in the first team next season.

Haynes: “It's going to be really hard to get in the team but that competition is what we need if we are going to be successful, I know injuries gave me a chance to come in and play but now I'm involved, I want to stay involved and I'm confident I can push for my place.

“No-one knew anything about me when I got in the first-team.

“The opposition wouldn't know my strengths and weaknesses but I suppose that won't be the case next year. They will probably be more aware and that will make it harder for me but I will have to deal with it.”
