Jim: We Must Improve

Town captain Jim Magilton says Town’s players have been told to improve their performances for the remainder of the season.

Town have now gone six games with out a win following the defeat against Stoke on Saturday and the team are well aware that is not good enough.

Jim: “The gaffer and his coaching staff have let us all know in no uncertain terms that the performance against Stoke just wasn't acceptable.

“In doesn't matter whether we are at the end of the season or the start, the display was well below what is expected from the team and what we're capable of.

“We will have to stew over that game all week while waiting to put it right against Brighton and the gaffer has demanded a reaction.

“Much has been said about the optimism for next season and we want to encourage people to come and watch Ipswich next year. I truly believe the team will be right up there challenging for promotion next season but that preparation can start now with a strong finish to the year.

“The players are waiting for the opportunity to make up for that display against Stoke and are determined to show the real Ipswich Town.”
