Town were forced to settle for 1 point after loosing a 2 goal lead, with goals from Darren Currie and Jimmy Juan.

Town's first goal came from a free kick on the far left, taken by Darren Currie whose effort flew past everyone and into the back of the net.

 

Their second came from a Jimmy Juan header inside of 40 minutes, which was his first goal for the club since arriving on loan from Monaco

 

Just before half time, Gary McSheffrey pulled one back for the sky blues, and early on in the second half the visitors found themselves level with Lilian Nalis heading in the equalizer.

 

Adam Proudlock got his home debut, being favoured over Sam Parkin in attack, with Matt Richards returning to left midfield. Richards was involved early on, almost latching onto a Darren Currie cross and working well with Jay McEveley.

 

Both sides had bad performances at the weekend and it showed in the first 10 minutes, the two teams starting off by being a little touch and go. Jason De Vos made himself known during the first 10 minutes, blocking a shot from Coventry frontman Gary McSheffrey.

 

On 15 minutes, McSheffrey was troubling the Town goal again with an opportunist strike from 25 yards out, forcing Lewis Price to scamper back to his line.

 

Town lost Owen Garvan to an ankle injury on 24 minutes, Jimmy Juan coming on to take his place. 2 minutes later, Town took the lead through Darren Currie, drifting a ball into the box, past the static City defence and into the far corner.

 

Blues were clearly lifted by the goal, and Juan and Currie linked well during the rest of the half, managing to provide a chance for Nicky Forster who was unable to get his shot in.

 

The Tractor Boys extended their lead on 39 minutes with Juan connecting with a Kevin Horlock free-kick, heading it in from 12 yards.

 

Soon after, Currie fired a free-kick over the bar from 30 yards and Forster shot wide, with Price saving a bullet from Richard Duffy with McEveley clearing up the field.

 

Coventry reduced the deficit on the stroke of half time, with Gary McSheffrey firing home from a tight angle, following a corner.

 

Town were forced into another change due to another injury, this time on Kevin Horlock. Parkin replaced him, and Matt Richards moved into the left midfield position.

 

Coventry equalized on 56 minutes through Lilian Nalis following a header from Adebola at the back post. Nalis getting his first goal for City since joining on loan from Leicester.

 

Very soon after, Bywater plucked the ball off the line following a Nicky Forster header.

 

A magical run by Darren Currie on 70 minutes got the crowd going, the centre half weaving past three sky blue defenders, and seeing his shot deflected just wide.

 

Seconds later, Coventry had the ball in the net but referee, Trevor Kettle, pulled the ball back for a foul on Sito.

 

McEveley chipped over the bar, Proudlock following suit with his left foot after cutting inside the City defence.

 

Dean Bowditch came on as a late sub for Forster, and managed to get on the end of a Proudlock cross but couldn't find the target as Town strived for a late winner only to find themselves forced to settle for a draw.
