Sam To Silence Critics

Ipswich Town striker Sam Parkin says he will do his best to silence parts of the crowd that have been getting on his back.

Parkin netted both of Town’s goals at Leeds on Saturday taking his tally for Town to 4 goals in 9 games and now he hopes he can keep scoring to keep parts of the Portman Road crowd off his back.

Parkin: “If people want to get on my back that is up to them. All I need to do is convince the lads and they have confidence in me and the manager picks me every week.

“The stick doesn't help anyone. It doesn't do the team any good and it doesn't do me any good. I did my job against Leeds and scored two goals that won us the game. While I may be the hero for a day I will probably be seen as the idiot again next week because that is the world of a striker.

“All I can do is remain positive and keep going looking for goals.

“At Swindon I scored 18 of the 23 goals I got last season at home so it is just one of those things. It is going well for me on the road at the moment but hopefully I will soon start scoring at Portman Road.”
