Joe On Promotion Race

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has given his thoughts on who he thinks will be the movers and shakers in the championship promotion race.

Joe: “I know the Ipswich fans won't thank me for saying it, but I think Norwich have come down stronger than when they went up.

 

“They have a top striker in Dean Ashton and so do Crystal Palace in Andy Johnson, which is why I also expect them to be challenging.

 

“Other leading candidates must be Wolves, who finished like a train last season, and Leeds, who seem to have bought two teams of new players. Sheffield United have also spent quite freely and could benefit from that.

 

“I can see the Championship being more competitive this time, but I am still confident that we can at least mount a challenge for the play-offs.”
