Peters: Germany Was 2nd Choice

Ipswich Town new boy Jaime Peters says he would have tried his luck in Germany if he had failed to get a work permit in England.

The 18-year-old midfielder was granted a work permit earlier this week and signed a two year contract with town yesterday and he says if he had failed in his appeal to get a work permit he would have returned to Germany or possibly Spain.

 

Peters: “If I had not got my permit I would have tried German or Spain.

 

“I had played in Germany for a year before coming here so I knew I could get a permit there. I was pleasantly surprised when the holiday worker’s permit was granted after the first one was turned down because it is hard to get into England.

 

“I’m real glad it happened and I thank Ipswich for working so hard to make it happen. They kept at it for months and never gave up on me and in the end succeeded.

 

“It was frustrating because I really to get over here and play.”
