Joe Not Going For Goat

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has squashed any rumours that will link Town with a move for former Reading striker Shaun Goater.

The 33-year-old left Reading by mutual consent yesterday and before any rumours start, Town manager Joe Royle has ruled out a move for the player he managed at Manchester City.

 

Royle: “We have no room for another attacker. We are limited in what we can do financially and our hot-spot is the defence, so the funds I have available will be directed at bringing in two defenders.

 

“We are an attacker down on last year. Also a midfielder and a keeper, but the defence is the priority.”

 

How ever Joe Royle has not ruled out a move for former Newcastle and Leicester defender Nikolaos Dabizas.
