Ipswich Town winger Dean McDonald has a point to prove in Town’s friendly against Scottish Champions Rangers.

The 19-year-old had a trial with Rangers following his release from Arsenal last summer but failed to get a deal and he wants to show the Ibrox based side what they missed out on.

 

McDonald: “I was with them during pre-season this time last year and I scored against Hibs in a 5-1 win for the reserves, so I did quite well, but unfortunately they were unable to offer me a contract at the end of it.

 

“Hopefully, I will play against them and I can show them what they are missing.

 

“It is funny how things work out because now I'm at Ipswich and loving it here - it shows how all good things come to those who wait.

 

“I'm definitely relishing this game. As a youngster it was my dream to be a professional footballer, playing in front of thousands of fans, so I hope I can show what I'm capable of and then do it on a regular basis.

 

“Obviously, I would love to start but whatever part I play, then I will be giving 150%.”
