Royle: Raise The Roof

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has called for Town’s fans to make the roof at Portman Road lift off when West Ham visit tomorrow night.

Portman road is a full house tomorrow night with each of the 30,000 seats being sold and Royle hopes the extra fans can push the team to Cardiff.

Royle: “There's something special about playing under the floodlights and that will add to the occasion I'm sure, I loved it as a player in evening games. They are extra special and the atmosphere is always that much more intense. I'm not sure that there's a scientific reason for it but evening games always seem to create those special atmospheres.

“And the crowd can certainly play a massive part for us on Wednesday night and help bring the best out of the players.

“There have been times this season when they've really got behind us vocally and we've gone on to do well and we'll be looking for more of that against West Ham.

“Let's do to them what they did to us last year, they made it quite hostile for us down there and I'm looking for all Tractor Boys and Girls to get right behind the team and make it a real cauldron of noise.”
