Target At Sunderland

Ipswich Town target Darryl Murphy has spent the last week on trial with Towns championship rivals Sunderland.

The 22-year-old Waterford United striker has had two trials with Town and is a possible replacement for Darren Bent should Town fail to get promoted this season.

Former Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy took Murphy to the Stadium of light last week and could join Town in making a move for the Ireland Under 21 star.
