On-loan Portsmouth defender David Unsworth has called for the fans to make some noise for the tractor boys during the run-in.

The 31-year-old believes the fans can be Town’s 12th man from now until the end of the season and help push Town’s push to the premiership.

Unsworth: “The supporters can certainly play their part in the run-in, they gave me a great reception on my home debut here and I thank them for that. Now we need them to turn up the volume and make Portman Road a hostile place for the opposition to come.

“I've seen the effect the supporters can have on games in my time at Everton, West Ham and particularly Portsmouth.

“The atmosphere at Fratton Park is the most vibrant I have ever seen. The fans down there really make it a difficult place for opposing teams to go. They get wound up for every game and the noise they create is phenomenal.

“It works both ways obviously and the team needs to get the fans going but there is no doubt that the supporters here can be our 12^th man and help us get over that promotion finishing line.”
